| I am a Boxer Breeder not a
Veterinarian. I try hard to do the best by my Boxers As I can. They get food, water, love and exercises. They are kept warm in the winter and dry when it rains and never left in the sun. They get toy to play with and to destroy. Vaccinations & Rabies shots which are done by a Licensed Veterinarian. I will give you my opinion and the way I see it. Or I will tell you how it's been for me. What worked or didn't work. I can't give you written in stone vet information, I will try to guide you in the right direction and you have to make the final call. |

| On the other hand! Veterinarians ARE NOT BREED OFFICIALS. I have had people say to me, I'd like to breed my Boxer, the vet says he see's no problem with it. The Vet does not know the standard of each and every breed there is. He may have his favorites. And he may know what he likes looking at in each breed. But this in know way gives him the right to say just because a dog is health that it should be breed. * ( not to be confused with health testing which a good breeder does)* look under health testing* A good Boxer breeder will know the guild lines of what to breed and not. Like- No Breeding of the white Boxers! There should be health testing done! The Boxer itself has a Conformation that should be looked at. looking at the top-line,
the head type, ![]() ( in my terms No bottle Nose Boxer should be breed) nice short muzzle with good turn-up lips setting even with each other, not the top lip hanging over the bottom Dark 3rd eye lid. (did ur vet know that?)
high & length,
tail set
Feet & pasterns. For some breeds this is correct, for the Boxer it is. But not for all breeds. ![]() Breeding should be done with the idea & understanding of bettering the Breed. Not for breeding just for the sake of having a litter of puppies.
